Saturday 20th February will start from Bassano del Grappa the 2021 edition of the "Coppa Attilio Bettega", a prestigious winter regularity event for Historic Cars, always characterized by the difficulty and hardness of the route, by the environmental conditions and roads (often forest roads), by the night and by the fatigue of the many km of competition. This year, more than ever, due to the heavy snowfall of the last period. An event that goes back to its origins, re-proposing the formula of "regularity on average" that characterised the first edition of the regularity version of the "Coppa Mario Dalla Favera", progenitor of the current Coppa Attilio Bettega, making it increasingly similar to the great European races and deserving even more the name of "Italian Montecarlo". And it is precisely the cancellation of the Montecarlo Historique 2021 that will bring this year many competitors, Italians and foreigners who were enrolled in the Monegasque race, to compete on the same ground and in the same way at the Coppa Attilio Bettega. The race, more than 330 km long, will have 10 average tests on the beautiful Dolomite passes, which have already been the scene of epic rally battles (such as the San Martino di Castrozza, of which it will follow many parts of the route), will start at lunchtime from Bassano del Grappa in Veneto on Saturday 20 February and will finish in Trentino at Fiera di Primiero late at night. President Gianni Chiesa explains, "The Scuderia intends to honour the Cup dedicated to Attilio Bettega, with no less than 24 crews entered and with the aim of aiming for overall victory and also for the Scuderia Cup, which never as this time and in this race has the value of an important title given the large number of contenders of the highest level and with over 110 cars entered". "To honour the memory of Attilio Bettega, who raced for the Scuderia Grifone in 1977 participating (and winning) the A112 Trophy, the Management has decided to put up for grabs a trophy dedicated to him, a fine glass plate, for whoever will obtain the best result on the PM7 of the Duran Pass". A "special" prize for a "special" event", concludes the President. Eleven different car brands will carry the Grifone logo in the Venetian race, Lancia, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, but also Lotus and Mini, Porsche, Audi and Opel, Renault, Saab and the charming Serbian Zastava to close the lot of the cars of the Genoese team!
