Ice and clean energy. This is the combination that has led to the birth of The Ice Challenge Green, the project created by ACI Sport Energie Alternative in collaboration with BMG Motor Events, which will take its first steps next weekend in Pragelato.

On Saturday 23rd these cars will take to the track on the Piedmontese track, in a first experimental race which will act as an appetizer to the real Italian Alternative Energies Ice Regularity Championship 2021, which will take place on Valentine's Day weekend, also in Pragelato.

The races, reserved for road cars complying with EU traffic regulations and equipped with green propulsion systems (full electric, hybrid, petrol/LPG and petrol/methane) will be regularity challenges on average, structured in heats exactly like The Ice Challenge. Competitors will have to cover the scheduled laps trying to respect the set average, which will be verified by secret controls to the tenth of a second along the route. The Ice Challenge Green will also have a great accessibility as the minimum qualification to participate will be the daily regularity licence.

This first outing in Pragelato", commented Angelo Raffaele Pelillo, Vice-President of the FIA Electric and New Energy Commission and ACI Sport contact person for the Alternative Energy sector, "will mark the start of a season dedicated to technological evolution and sustainable mobility. Bringing regularity to the average for vehicles powered by clean sources on ice is a combination of absolute value, in a context that perhaps more than others espouses the cause of sustainability. Technology and fun will be the ingredients for this debut, which will give participants the opportunity to put themselves to the test for what, next 14 February, will be the real appointment of the Italian Alternative Energy Regolarità Ice Championship 2021".

How it works
It will be a circuit formula that applies the rules of regularity on average.

The competition consists of at least 5 laps of the route at imposed average with secret detections.
The start of the 1st competitor is from a standstill on the start line at the full minute, while the following competitors will start at a distance of at least 5 seconds.
The transit time on the secret markers is measured to 1/10 of a second and the cars with 4WD compared to 2WD will have different imposed averages.
differentiated.
