Nino Margiotta and Alessandro Moretti, driving a Fiat 1500 6C for Classic Team, secured victory at the 13th Valli Biellesi – Umberto Drago Memorial, following a demanding and highly competitive event held across the Biella region. The winning crew completed the rally with 246.60 penalty points over a 190 km route featuring 65 regularity tests, partly inspired by the historic Rally della Lana course.
Flavio Renna and Paolo Abalsamo finished second overall, just 11.6 points behind, also taking victory in the RC4 class with their Autobianchi A112. Third place went to Carlo Beccalossi and Marzia Marchioni on Fiat 508C, who also secured second place in RC2.
Fourth overall were Francesco Nicolò Gulotta and Paolino Messina, winners of RC3, followed by Claudio Lastri and Valter Pantani, winners of the fifth category. Mario Passanante and Riccardo Riboldi finished sixth and second in RC4, ahead of Roberto and Tommaso Crugnola.
The win marks a significant comeback for Margiotta, ending a six-year drought since his last victory in 2020. Despite strong performances in recent seasons, technical issues had often prevented him from achieving top results.
“I’m very happy – said Margiotta – it was my first time here in Biella and I really enjoyed the event. It was a technical and demanding rally, and now we look at the championship with renewed confidence.”
The championship now moves to Calabria for the next round, the Circuito Felice Nazzaro, scheduled for April 24–25.
