One "Coppa Città della Pace" leads to another. After two postponements due to the pandemic, the 27th edition was finally held on 21 November, and now it is time for the Adige Sport team to organise the 28th edition, which will take place again at the end of February, on Saturday 27th.
The competition will of course still be valid as a leg of the Italian regularity championship for historic cars, the Cireas. It is to be expected that the best Italian drivers will be at the start of the race, who, after a season that was short-lived or completely cancelled, like last year's, are eager to get back to competing on roads all over Italy on the edge of penalties.
The novelty, compared to the last two editions, lies in the fact that the start and finish will be back in the natural location of Vallagarina, since the start will be given by the Hotel Nerocubo, near the motorway exit of Rovereto Sud, while the finish line will be set up at the Cantina Vivallis of Villalagarina. The route will be innovated by inserting a new route that will enhance the Val di Ledro, while remaining anchored as usual, also for climatic reasons, to the south-western Trentino. The lunch stop this time will be in Dro.
In November, success went to the couple from Bergamo, Guido Barcella and Ombretta Ghidotti, competing with a 1963 Porsche 356 C, who preceded Alberto and Federico Riboldi from Brescia, competing with a 1933 Fiat Balilla 508 S Barchetta. In the roll of honour there are all the most prestigious names in the speciality who have taken part in these races in the last twenty years, so there is no doubt that this year too it will be the turn of a big name to climb onto the top step of the podium.
